Sept. 24: UK Department of Veterinary Science presents their monthly Equine Diagnostic and Research Seminar. This month's topic will be "The Economic Climate of the Horse Industry in Kentucky".This seminar will cover trends and challenges in the racing, competitive non-racing, and recreational horse industries. Dr. Jill Stowe is an assistant professor in the University of Kentucky's Department of Agricultural Economics. Her areas of specialization include economics of the equine industry, decision making under risk and uncertainty, other-regarding preferences, incentives, and neuroeconomics. Kenny Burdine's extension area of interest include Livestock Marketing and Outlook; Livestock, Equine and Forage Management and Profitability; Livestock Price Risk Protection.
Seminar begins at 4 pm in the Livestock Disease Diagnostic Center conference room.
